Therapy for Trauma, Anxiety, & Relationships for Adults in St. Louis
In-Person and Virtual Therapy in Chesterfield & Washington, Missouri
You may look like you have it together on the outside, but internally feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck repeating the same patterns in relationships.
You may notice yourself:
overthinking conversations or conflict
feeling anxious or emotionally overwhelmed
people-pleasing or struggling with boundaries
shutting down during difficult conversations
repeating unhealthy relationship patterns
feeling disconnected from yourself or others
Many of these patterns develop as ways of coping with earlier experiences. That’s why I help individuals and couples understand the patterns behind anxiety, conflict, and relationship struggles so that they can break unhealthy cycles and build more secure, fulfilling connections.

Trauma can take many forms, and it does not always come from a single event. I work with adults who have experienced things like childhood trauma, emotional neglect, difficult family dynamics, relationship trauma, and other experiences that may still affect how they feel, cope, and relate to others today.
Many clients come to therapy not necessarily identifying their experiences as “trauma,” but because they notice patterns such as anxiety, people-pleasing, difficulty trusting others, emotional overwhelm, or challenges in relationships. Together, we explore how past experiences may be influencing the present and work toward building greater stability, understanding, and healthier patterns moving forward.

Yes, I provide couples counseling for partners who want to better understand the patterns affecting their relationship and develop healthier ways of communicating and connecting.
Couples often seek therapy when they find themselves repeating the same conflicts, feeling disconnected, or struggling to understand each other’s emotional needs. In our work together, we focus on improving communication, understanding underlying emotional triggers, and strengthening the sense of safety and connection within the relationship.
My approach also considers how individual experiences and attachment patterns may influence how partners respond to conflict, closeness, and stress.

Being trauma certified means a therapist has completed specialized training in understanding how difficult or overwhelming experiences can affect the brain, nervous system, emotions, and relationships. This training focuses on recognizing trauma responses and supporting clients in ways that feel safe, supportive, and appropriately paced.
This training can also be helpful when working with concerns beyond trauma, such as anxiety or relationship stress, because many of these challenges are connected to how the nervous system responds to stress and perceived threat.

My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative space where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences and the patterns that may be affecting your life or relationships.
In our work together, we will look at both current challenges and the deeper patterns that may be contributing to them. I integrate approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-focused work, nervous system regulation, and narrative therapy to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and responses.
Sessions often include a combination of exploring experiences, identifying patterns, developing practical tools for managing anxiety or conflict, and building greater self-awareness. Therapy moves at a pace that feels safe and manageable, with the goal of helping you develop meaningful and lasting change.
